Twitter announced Thursday that the company has the ability to censor tweets from countries. This means that popular micro-blogging site can comply with any local governments to remove or block out certain content upon request.
This is directly opposite from its official description of giving the “Latest information about what you find interesting.”
Twitter, according to its official description, promises to offer up the "latest information about what you find interesting."
So far Twitter hasn’t exercised this option. When it does it will alert all users by grayed out tweets.
Twitter users are outraged and feel it is an affront to free society. It has gone so far that a group is working on a blackout day January 28th to boycott the changes.

They have computers, and they may have other weapons of mass destruction
